BREATHE LA Young Professionals Kick-off Event

Young professionals are invited for a fun evening of free wine and hors d'oeuvres to celebrate the launch of BREATHE LA's Young Professionals group on October 27 from 6:30pm-8:30pm. BREATHE LA Young Professionals supports BREATHE LA's mission to promote clean air and healthy lungs. Tips to Protect Families During Flu Season

Even healthy people can contract the influenza (flu) virus during the flu season. People can reduce their risk with a flu shot this season.  Most at-risk during flu season are infants and those who suffer from chronic lung conditions such as asthma or COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease), where coughing and breathing become difficult.  According to the Centers for Disease Control, flu vaccine can prevent illness in up to 90 percent of people under 65 years of age. Flu shots are quick and readily available.

Sills, M.D. Visiting Scholar - Homer Boushey, M.D., Professor of Medicine at San Francisco School of Medicine.  Dr. Boushey will be speaking on "Possibility of Asthma Prevention: Lessons From the Environment", at the Taglyan Complex, 1201 No, Vine Street, Hollywood.  The evening begins with a social hour at 6:00 p.m.; dinner at 7:00 p.m. and the lecture at 8:00 p.m.
