Posted August 26th, 2008
Stanton Glantz, director of the University of California San Francisco Center for Tobacco Control Research and Education, is quoted in this article on the positive impacts of tobacco control programs. Dr. Glantz partnered with BREATHE California of Sacramento-Emigrant Trails in the May 2008 report critical of the Motion Picture Academy of America (MPAA) failure to effectively weigh smoking in movie ratings system of G, PG, and PG-13 films with tobacco scenes.
BREATHE LA 4-U-N-I Teen Quit Smoking Program provides Los Angeles area high school students with effective tools to quit smoking and raises awareness about peer pressure and social influences in teen smoking.
