What will O24u Online teach me?

Where does this plastic bottle go?

In the "Garbage & Recycling" section, students will find answers to the nagging question of "What goes where?" when sorting trash.

What's so great about recycling?

Through a series of activities, students learn how the garbage we throw away affects the air we breathe and how we can decrease pollution by reusing, reducing and recycling.

I keep hearing about global warming and climate change. What's the deal?

The Earth's surface temperature has climbed over 1oF in the last 100 years. That doesn't sound like much! But just think: during the last Ice Age, the temperature was only 7oF colder than it is today and glaciers covered most of North America! In the Climate Change section, students learn what a warmer world means to our health and future.

Teaching Resources on Environmental Issues

O24u Online provides background information on the concepts covered by the program. In addition, teachers can explore other educational resources offered by agencies such as the EPA and the California Energy Commission.

Evaluation

At any time, a teacher can view their students' progress - how many pages they have completed, the time it took them, etc. Also, a message board is available for teachers to provide feedback and share any comments or advice they have with each other and BREATHE LA.

Parents can
