O24U BREATHE Environmental Education Program
BREATHE LA invites you to ensure Los Angeles County school children enjoy BREATHE LA O24U Environmental Education Program.
BREATHE LA O24U Program provides environmental education to children in after school programs throughout Los Angeles County. BREATHE LA O24U upcoming sessions will be offered in more than 80 after-school sites including Long Beach Boys and Girls Clubs, Beyond the Bell , YMCA, and LA's Best.
In our 2008 spring session, we had an overwhelming response to our O24U Environmental Education Program. Initially, 1,750 children were scheduled to participate in O24U spring 2008, but excitement over the fun, hands on activities ( and the cool bright green O24U T-shirt ) spread and more than 4,000 children signed up to learn how to protect our environment and make a difference at home and in their communities.
Our 2009 O24u Environmental Education spring sessions promise to excite even more children to take part in fun learning activities both on site and on line. Our O24u Online program will be officially launched in National Environmental Education Week 2009, but you can enjoy a sneak peek by clicking here.
Funds for additional materials, workbooks, incentives and T-shirts will be needed soon. As we prepare for our Spring 2009 O24U sessions, we look forward to serving thousands more children and invite you to support O24U by making a safe secure online donation now. Any amount will help!
BREATHE LA O24U Environmental Education Program is supported by grants from KTLA TV McCormick Tribune Charities, LA5 Rotary Foundation, Boeing Employee Giving Fund grants, offices of Los Angeles County Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky, individual donors like you, and funds raised through our Charity Skydive and BREATH OF LIFE AWARDS events.
Since it's inception in 2005, the program has reached thousands of children who learn the value of recycling and the important role they can play in protecting the environment for future generations. Your support ensures each child who wishes to take part in the program enjoys a full learning experience.
BREATHE LA appreciates your commitment to clean air and welcomes your support. If you would like to volunteer to support the program, as an individual or with your club, school, or community group, let us know! If you have any questions, contact us 323-935-8050 x 288.
