BREATHE LA programs educate and empower children.
For children in school break winter and summer daycamp settings,
BREATHE LA Asthma Lung Power is an asthma awareness program that allows children, caregivers and family members to understand asthma.
Through fun exercises and family-friendly ‘homework' activities, the program empowers children and families to take charge of asthma as the best way to control it.
Asthma Lung Power encourages children to "use your courage" and REST:
- R ecognize your warning signs
- E xpress your symptoms and feelings to an adult
- S tay calm and don't panic
- T ake correct medications
Asthma Lung Power includes the family and caregivers in the management of asthma, empowring children to understand and ask for help to control their asthma. Asthma Lung Power is provided to middle school students in school break day camps in
Los Angeles County.
