Inaugural Meeting RSVP Form

BREATHE California of Los Angeles County (BREATHE LA) invites you to participate on the BREATHE LA Air Quality Compact Advisory Council. The inaugural meeting of the Advisory Council will be held at the BREATHE LA offices (5858 Wilshire Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90036) on Friday, December 14, 2007 from 9:30-11:00 am.

As you may know, the California Endowment has recently helped to fund
BREATHE LA's initiative to create an Air Quality Compact for Los Angeles County. "The purpose of the BREATHE LA Air Quality Compact is to develop a platform for public health policy advocacy that will: (1) heighten awareness of air quality issues in Los Angeles County; and (2) exchange and disseminate vital information for decision making by individuals and organizations that have the capacity to impact lung health through policy".

In preparation for the launch of this important clean air initiative, BREATHE LA is forming an Air Quality Compact Advisory Council. The Advisory Council will convene to finalize the Compact's core provisions and help engage all interested sectors of the community in promoting the Compact during the implementation phase. The Advisory Council will be comprised of elected officials, air quality activists, business and community leaders, experts on air quality, heath care professionals and other key stakeholders. (Please see the attached "Advisory Council Roles and Responsibilities" for further information regarding Advisory Council membership).

If you are interested in joining BREATHE LA Air Quality Compact Advisory Council and will be able to attend the Friday, December 14, 2007 inaugural meeting please return the completed RSVP form below. Please feel free to contact Manager of Environmental Policy at BREATHE LA, with further questions regarding this important initiative.

Please return the completed form via fax at 323-935-1873 no later than Monday, December 3, 2007.
