BREATHE LA programs and services are attuned to the specific challenges of one of the largest and most vibrant metropolitan areas in the world, Los Angeles County. We are proud of our commitment to provide meaningful programs and information to those we serve. Our strong advocacy for clean air is one of the many ways in which we fulfill our promise to protect the breath of life in Los Angeles.
BREATHE LA provides educational programs like O24U our environmental education program, to elementary school children.
BREATHE LA provides lung health awareness materials and provides lung health programs like Asthma Lung Power to middle school children.
BREATHE LA provides high school students with an effective peer-to-peer mentoring program to quit smoking.
BREATHE LA provides uninsured Spanish-speaking communities with lung disease awareness and referrals through Pulmones Libres.
BREATHE LA Center for Healthy Lungs conducts cutting edge research to improve quality of life for children and seniors suffering with lung disease.
BREATHE LA promotes clean air by taking an active role in advocacy and by leading conversations within our community through the ongoing BREATHE LA GREEN SALON SERIES and 2008 series, BREATHE LA Pollution & Solutiuons Salon Series. The BREATHE LA Air Quality Compact was another example of BREATHE LA initiatives dedicated to Los Angeles air quality.
BREATHE LA also enhances professional development for respiratory health professionals through the Trudeau Society, and works with local communities, elected leaders, business leaders and the health education community to increase awareness and effective advocacy.
