Do you think The Los Angeles Times deserves BREATHE LA FULLA HOT AIR AWARD for a recent story on athletes who smoke? The story highlighted an unpopular truth: that some athletes do smoke.

Sure, it is true that the ideal of health and healthy lifestyles is not always as simple as we would wish. But did it have to be a such a prominent article?

When BREATHE LA first read the article, we were pretty fired up. We've been active in the fight for smoke free environments for a very long time and we don't take smoking lightly. Yes, we respect the rights of those who choose to smoke, but not when smoking continues to have negative impacts on families and communities. But, hey, we're just advocates for clean air and healthy lungs (O24u, 4-U-N-I, Asthma Lung Power). What do you think?
