Boeing Funds BREATHE LA O24u Environmental Education
BREATHE LA O24u Environmental Education Breakfast Briefing Friday July 17th had something exciting on the menu. James E. Herr, Senior Manager of Boeing California Region Global Corporate Citizenship presented BREATHE LA with a check for $50,000.
The funds, provided by Boeing Charitable Trust, will provide BREATHE LA O24u Environmental Education Program ‘Train the Trainer' implementation in Long Beach WRAP (Winners Reaching Awesome Potential) a consortium of afterschool providers serving approximately 10,000 students.
The funding will also help to establish a mentoring partnership with the Los Angeles County Environmental Charter High School (ECHS) in Lawndale to prepare teens to teach O24u to elementary school students starting in Spring 2010.

The Breakfast Briefing was attended by friends, board members and community members who enjoyed O24u hands on activities including making smog catchers and solar cookers for warm weather s'mores. All O24u hands on environmental activities and educational guides can be accessed and downloaded on BREATHE LA website and can also be experienced as interactive learning fun through O24u Online Environmental Program.
Couldn't attend? Support O24u with a safe, secure online donation. It takes only $24.00 to fund one child's O24u learning experience. Learn more about O24u history and our plans to expand the program to serve all children who would benefit from O24u.
