4-U-N-I Inspires Teens to Quit Smoking
A Beverly Hills High School - BREATHE LA partnership, 4-U-N-I helps teens quit smoking. The program, founded and led by students, provides peer-to-peer suport and tools to quit smoking. The first Beverly Hills High School Chapter of 4-U-N-I ( text = For You And I ) is a student-led, BREATHE LA supported, teen quit smoking program designed to inspire, support, and assist youth in Los Angeles high schools.
4-U-N-I founders Chetana Singh (Left) and Wendy Weng (Right) meet BREATHE LA Board Chair Michael Arlen at December 2007 Board Meeting.
4-U-N-I planned projects include production of a 15 minute film highlighting the dangers of smoking and a teen-to-teen quit tobacco mentoring project. 4-U-N-I student members read about and research tobacco's influence on youth culture and tobacco's health effects to create and share youth-friendly information with their peers. 4-U-N-I students plan to unveil their film on World No Tobacco Day, May 31, 2008 at Beverly Hills High School. The students are preparing to go into production on April 11, 2008 and welcome production support in the form of supplies or simple cash donations. Contact us if you would like to help.
