NEAL RICHMAN APPOINTED AS CHAIR-ELECT OF CALIFORNIA ASTHMA PARTNERS

Neal Richman, Ph.D., has been appointed as the chair-elect for California Asthma Partners (CAP).  CAP is the premier statewide collaboration of government, nonprofit and other leading groups to address California children facing one of the highest asthma rates in the nation.

New Initiative to Address Children's Respiratory Health at Port of Long Beach

Thanks to a grant just approved by the Harbor Commission of the Port of Long Beach, BREATHE LA will work with approximately 9,000 children to improve the identification, prevention and treatment of asthma, thereby reducing school absenteeism and emergency hospitalizations.   These funds were made available through the Port of Long Beach Mitigation Grant Program that seeks to address respiratory health challenges facing the surrounding community.
