Green Salon - Environmental Innovation in Our Educational Systems
BREATHE LA and local educational experts invite the public to participate in a special Green Salon showcasing how educational institutions, ranging from K-12 schools to colleges and universities, are leading the way in the use of new technologies for environmental sustainability. Through efforts to "green" their campuses, these institutions are providing new models for improving development and operations that can be used throughout Los Angeles. In some instances, students are directly involved in these innovations and thus are being educated for the environmental jobs of the future. This is the fourth of five BREATHE LA Green Salons sponsored by Union Bank in 2010.
Guest panelists include:
● Bill Sullivan, CEM, Energy Manager, California State University, Northridge
● Harry Wiland, Executive Producer, Director, Co-President and Co-CEO of Media & Policy Center Foundation
● Ana M. Lasso, Planning & Development Branch, Los Angeles Unified School District
● Felicito Cajayon, Dean of Resource and Economic Development, LA Community College District
Moderated by Neal Richman, Ph.D., Director of Programs and Advocacy, Breathe LA
The third annual BREATHE LA Green Salon Series focuses on the Green Streets of LA: how the Los Angeles community is addressing sustainable solutions as they relate to California's landmark legislation, AB 32 Global Warming Act. BREATHE LA Green Salons are open public forums, encouraging a robust Q&A session. Light refreshments are served at each event.
