BREATHE LA applauds Councilmember Bernard Parks for proposing a comprehensive ban on smoking in Los Angeles. Presented for consideration by Los Angeles City Council, the ban would make it illegal to smoke in any public place in Los Angeles. This could save lives, and improve the quality of life for countless Los Angeles residents and workers. Tobacco is harmful to the health of smokers and contributes to air pollution.

AB 233 - (Jones) establishing the Diesel Vehicles and Engines: Healthy Heart and Lungs Act, increasing minimum civil penalties for idling of commercial diesel-fueled vehicles from $100 to $300 and other provisions.
